Ashley School Debating Team 2013
Our team was at their best again this week beating Cust Primary School in the second round of the North Canterbury Primary Schools Debating Competition.
The moot was again 'Zoos do more good than harm.' We were the affirmative team.
Well done to Clementine Ward, Olivia Eastmond and Jasmine Corby. Thanks again to Wilemina for working with this very able group of students. The next debate will be in two weeks time.

Olivia, Clementine and Jasmine were successful in defeating Kaiapoi North School in the first round of the North Canterbury Primary Schools Debating Competition on Thursday16 May 2013.
The moot was "Zoos do more harm than good." We were the negative team.
Next week we are up against Cust and will debate the positive argument of the same moot.
Thanks to Lily who was an absolutely fabulous chairperson.
A very confident beginning to this competition. The team has worked hard over the holidays to prepare and now have only one week to get their speeches together. All the girls spoke confidently due no less to the skills gained through public speaking as a result of our speech and poetry competitions.
Special Thanks to Wilimena for working with these students.
